Dori Media Group (DMG) announced that since MIPCOM it has closed deals for 1,760 hours of its telenovela series and formats to broadcasters from 10 countries, generating an expected total of $1.97 million in sales, with the potential total rising to $3.75 million if further options for the additional sale of 536 more hours are exercised.
The deals were completed by DMG's fully owned Swiss subsidiaries, Dori Media International and Dori Media Distribution.
"This is a great achievement for Dori Media Group," said Nadav Palti, the president and CEO of DMG. "Our telenovelas encountered very high levels of demand from TV buyers from all continents. We have noted a particular interest in buying the formats of our telenovelas, enabling TV buyers to adapt these successful stories to their local marketplaces. The telenovela truly is a global phenomenon."
Series sold at MIPCOM include Amor Mio, Floricienta, Rebelde Way and Sos Mi Vida, with the largest purchasers coming from Russia, Ukraine and Portugal.
