The export of Argentinian audiovisual content is rising at almost 100% per annum and totalled almost US$60mil in 2005 (between formats, finished products, content and services), compared to just US$35mil in 2004.
Telefe Internacional, the exports arm of the Telefonica-owned channel, leads the way with an annual turnover of almost US$20mil but a rival is born tonight as Dori Media Distribution is formally unveiled as the international content and formats sales division for DMG, the holding company belonging to the impresario Yair Dori; it is based in Buenos Aires.
Dori has acquired the export rights on anything created by Pol-ka, the production company of Adrian Suar, and Ideas del Sur, the firm of Marcelo Tinelli. Both these groups have Grupo Clarin as a shareholder whilst Dori Media Distribution represents the virtual launch of Canal 13 into the export arena.
