Saar and Tom are successful soccer stars, who have known each other forever. The two are complete opposites – Saar is flamboyant and self-centered while Tom is modest and kind. After Tom inherits a huge sum of money, the two embark on an ambitious mission: they form a star-studded soccer team, with the clear aim of winning the European Championship.
Unfortunately, their budding partnership turns into bitter rivalry, when Tom and Saar's wife, Leanne, fall in love. Vengeful Saar humiliates Leanne and takes their daughter away from her. Tom, in return, fires Saar from his position as team coach and takes the helm. Tom fails to match Saar's achievements and the team goes off on a downward spiral. Matters worsen when word of Tom and Leanne's romance leaks to the press, and the two are attacked by the media and the fans. Leanne begs Tom to give Saar his old job back and Saar returns to the team triumphant, but not for long.
Tom has always doubted the origins of his inheritance and discovers that it indeed originated from a failed heist, which resulted in the murder of his parents. To his horror, he learns that his parents' killer was none other than Saar's father, who was considered long dead, but who is in fact very much alive. Saar inadvertently learns the truth about his father and an emotional reunion transpires. However, Saar's happiness is short-lived as Tom arranges to have his father killed.
Grief-stricken and enraged, Saar declares an all-out war on Tom. In just a few months, he strips him of everything – his money, his dignity and even his wellbeing – and as a bonus, schemes to take Leanne away from him.
On the day of the European Championship finals, when Saar is about to put the final nail in Tom's coffin, Tom finds out that Saar was the one behind his downfall and the two arch enemies reach their final showdown…
